Our Visiting Artist Program brings a rotating selection of painters and mixed-media artists to our gallery, offering a fresh and inspiring collection of artwork throughout the year.

Join us for a special Meet the Artist Day at Queenston Pottery on Saturday, August 8, from 1:00–4:00 pm, where you can enjoy a glass of wine and light refreshments, and connect with our Visiting Artist in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

Featuring: Robert William McAlpine

Based in the Niagara region, Robert William McAlpine is an abstract artist who uses colour, texture, and movement to explore the depths of human emotion. His work reflects lived experience —both uplifting and challenging, transforming feelings into visual language through expressive, intuitive mark-making.

Robert’s paintings tackle themes of mental health, resilience, failure, and personal growth. Each canvas becomes an honest conversation, revealing moments that are often felt but rarely spoken. Through layered textures and bold movement, Robert invites viewers to engage emotionally, offering space for reflection, empathy, and connection.

For Robert, art is more than imagery; it is a voice. Every brushstroke contributes to a story still unfolding, one that gives form to inner experiences and unspoken truths. His work is raw, unapologetic, and deeply human.
