Our Visiting Artist Program brings a rotating selection of regional artists to our gallery, offering a fresh and inspiring collection of artwork throughout the year.
Join us for our special Meet the Artist Days at Queenston Pottery on Saturday, November 14 and Saturday, November 21, from 1:00–4:00 PM, where you can enjoy a glass of wine and light refreshments, and connect with our Visiting Artists in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
Featuring: Marzi & Hassan
Marzi Alimo is a visual artist, sculptor, and painter whose practice centers on surrealist ceramic sculpture. As a self-taught sculptor with a degree in Craft and Design, she masterfully uses figurative forms to explore human emotions and social challenges. Shaped by her journey as a migrant, her deeply narrative, three-dimensional pieces create a space for profound empathy and connection, inviting viewers to see themselves within the art.
Hassan Ghanati is an award-winning craft artist who has dedicated the last decade to perfecting contemporary woodworking while experimenting with pottery, ceramics, and metal. His work deeply respects the natural world, sourcing wood locally and exclusively milling from distressed or fallen trees to let nature play a hand in the creative process.
Meet Marzi and Hassan in person, learn about their unique creative processes, and explore the stories woven through their beautiful contemporary works.
