Love in Clay: A Valentine’s & Galentine’s Studio Experience

Add a creative spin to your Valentine’s season—because shared experiences are what truly bring us together.

Join us at Queenston Pottery for a 2.5-hour hands-on clay workshop designed for couples, friends, and groups looking for a meaningful, artistic escape. Whether you are a local or visiting for the winter festivities, this is the perfect creative break to warm up, slow down, and get playful with clay.

About the Workshop

  • The Experience: You will start with two "leather-hard" stoneware wine cups. Using specialised tools and expert guidance, you’ll sculpt these canvases into expressive faces or unique creative forms.

  • Who: Perfect for Valentines or Galentines! No prior experience is needed; we will be right there to offer tips and help your imagination come to life.

  • The Setting: Our workshop takes place inside our active working studio and multi-level gallery. The historic heart of Queenston Pottery, where we have been handcrafting ceramics for 48 years.

What’s Included:

  • Two leather-hard wine cups to serve as your sculpting canvas.

  • All materials, tools, and expert instruction in a relaxed, social atmosphere.

  • Professional glazing and firing: Your pieces will be fired to $1330°C, making them durable and food-safe. They will be ready for pickup (or shipping) in approximately 12 weeks.

  • Wine & Charcuterie: Enjoy a curated selection of local flavours while you explore our gallery and the new textile exhibition by Ann Marie Patrick.

  • Full Gallery Access: Take time to browse our latest collections across multiple levels of our historic space.

Booking Details

  • Cost: $150 per person.

  • Groups: Bringing a crowd? Groups of 6 or more may request alternate scheduling to suit your plans.

  • Shipping: Available for an additional charge based on size and destination.

  • Note: Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled workshop time to get settled. Walk-ins are welcome if space permits, but we recommend registering in advance to secure your seat at the table.
