Our winter season is bringing something truly spectacular to the gallery, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate the holidays with you! We are thrilled to announce that during our Winter Holiday Show, on November 14 & 21, Queenston Pottery will host a special dual residency featuring two incredibly talented creators: contemporary woodworker Hassan Ghanaei and ceramic sculptor Marzi Alimo. Husband and wife, they will share their work with us from November 11, 2026, to January 3, 2027.
While you browse our festive holiday collection, we would absolutely love for you to join us for our upcoming Meet the Artist Days. Come out to support their work, share a glass of wine, and enjoy a cozy afternoon surrounded by the warm, creative company of our amazing local art community.

Meet Our Artists-in-Residence
Marzi Alimo is a visual artist and sculptor whose practice centers on contemporary surrealist ceramic sculpture. Her artistic journey began at the Art University of Kashan, Iran, where she initially focused on painting before exploring illustration and jewelry design. As a self-taught sculptor, Marzi developed her figurative work through deep observation, a self-study of human anatomy, and years of intuitive experimentation. Shaped by her journey as a migrant, Marzi’s stunning, expressive sculptures explore human emotions and social challenges, inviting viewers into a shared space of empathy and deep connection.
Hassan Ghanaei has dedicated the last decade to perfecting his craft, primarily focusing on woodworking while beautifully experimenting with pottery, ceramics, and metal. Holding graduate degrees in Craft & Design, he has exhibited his work in juried national shows, earning him the prestigious William and Mary Corcoran Award for Excellence in Functional Craft from Craft Ontario. Driven by a deep respect for the environment, Hassan works exclusively with locally sourced wood milled from distressed or fallen trees. Each hand-carved piece strikes a gorgeous balance between contemporary design and the raw, natural beauty of the wood.
We truly look forward to celebrating the magic of the holiday season with many of your smiling faces at the gallery
